Overview

Our objective as the Mariposa County Assessor and Recorder’s Office, is to provide reliable recording information and fair and equitable taxation of all property with the best and most courteous service to the public.

Assessor

The Assessor is annually responsible for discovering and assessing all taxable real and personal property located in the county, and for determining eligibility for various property tax exemptions and exclusions.

Recorder

The Recorder maintains various land and finance documents for Mariposa County. Typical land documents include deeds, leases, mining claims, subdivision maps, homestead declarations and records of survey. Typical finance documents include trust deeds, notices of default, reconveyances, and various liens. The Recorder’s office collects the Documentary Transfer Tax when real property exchanges hands.

Vital Records

The Recorder is also the registrar of vital records (Marriage, Birth, and Death Certificates) for events that occurred within the County of Mariposa.

Parcel and Tax Roll Information


Parcel Information

The Parcel Information Search Tool allows you to view limited assessment data. The tool allows you to search by either Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) or by street address. Some parcels, such as vacant land, have not been assigned street addresses, and an APN will be necessary to perform a search.

Tax Roll Information

The Tax Roll Information Search Tool allows you to view current tax roll and basic parcel information by Assessor Parcel Number (APN) or by street address.  Some parcels, such as vacant land, have not been assigned street addresses, and an APN will be necessary to perform a search.
