PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to state law, the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors has scheduled two public hearings to consider applications and appoint an individual to fill the unexpired term of Sheriff – Coroner - Public Administrator. 

 

This matter will be proceeding under California Government Code Section 25304, which states: “The board of supervisors shall fill by appointment all vacancies that occur in any office filled by the appointment of the board and elective county officers, except judge of the superior court and supervisors. The appointee shall hold office for the unexpired term or until the first Monday after January 1st succeeding the next general election.”

 

The two hearings are scheduled as follows:

 

HEARING #1:

DATE:           December 15, 2020

TIME:            2:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard

 

HEARING #2 (Subject to number of applicants):

DATE:           December 22, 2020

TIME:            2:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard

 

LOCATION OF BOTH HEARINGS:

                     Board Chambers

                     Mariposa County Government Center 

                     5100 Bullion Street

                     Mariposa, California.

 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, under local rules, the matter may be decided on December 15, 2020, with the second hearing canceled if three or fewer applications are received. Hearing #2 will be held ONLY if four or more applications are received prior to the application deadline of December 7th, 2020.

The Board of Supervisors will consider all written comments received prior to the posted hearing date.
