Mariposa County unsecured taxes are mailed in august each year and due by september 30.
secured taxes are mailed by the end of october and will be due in two installments by december 10 and april 10.
We no longer accept partial payments. Please pay each installment in full to avoid your payment being returned. Call for payoff amounts.
We have provided a secure drop box available 24 hours outside the front door of our building located at 4982 10th street in Mariposa. To assist our taxpayers, we have waived the E-Check/EFT fee. You may make your payment on our website by clicking the circle below that says "PAY A BILL" with an E-Check for FREE or by using your Credit Card for a convenience fee of 2.5% (minimum of $2.50) or your Debit card for a convenience fee of 1%. Tax Collector Duties
The Tax Collector’s Department collects taxes, sells tax-defaulted land, and assists Taxpayers, Mortgage and Title companies, and members of the public with current and past information regarding local property taxation. Our office provides the best customer service to meet the needs of our constituents.
TITLE COMPANIES AND TAXPAYERS
TAXES ARE DUE BY DECEMBER 10 AND APRIL 10
The Treasurer-Tax Collector receives, safeguards, distributes, and invests County funds. All County departments deposit their cash and checks through the Treasurer’s office.
Transient Occupancy Taxes (TOT) and Tourism Business Improvement District (tbid) assessment
The Treasurer- Tax Collector collects the TOT and TBID assessments. All rentals must be approved prior to renting in Mariposa County. The TOT and TBID tax is imposed on people who stay less than 30 days. In Mariposa County tax will be 12% of the room rate and the TBID is 1.5% starting January 1, 2021. Returns are reported and due monthly.
