2007 EVS Report Cover

On December 8, 2015, the Board of Supervisors (Board) considered the 2007 Economic Vitality Strategy (EVS) and 2006 General Plan Economic Development Element (GP).  The Board directed staff to create a timeline and prepare a schedule to conduct a public review and discussion of these documents. At meetings on January 5 and January 19, 2016, the Board discussed and approved a review schedule that included 23 county citizen advisory committees and community organizations. The Board also approved a cover letter and questions.

Beginning in February 2016 and continuing throughout April 2016, staff attended each advisory committee and community organization meeting on the schedule and facilitated discussion regarding the EVS and GP. Staff attended more than 26 meetings and collected and documented answers to the prepared questionnaire. Community discussions focused on both suggested economic development action items contained in the EVS, as well as actions and items not mentioned in the EVS or GP.

As part of the EVS Update, Craft Consulting is preparing a SWOT analysis. Please look at the final SWOT and provide your input on the top five of each category.

Please see the Existing Conditions & Opportunities document as part of the deliverables for EVS update project.
