The Election Department is a division of the County Clerk's office, and is overseen by the Registrar of Voters. The staff of the Elections Department is responsible for all aspects of voting and elections, including:
  • Registering new voters, updating voter information, and maintaining the voter registration file
  • Arranging for all polling locations and recruiting and training polling place workers
  • Administering federal, state, and local elections held in Mariposa County
  • Informing candidates of nomination processes and campaign reporting laws and processing filed candidate and campaign statements

Voter Change of Address
If you move within Mariposa County, or if there is any change in your mailing address, please notify the Elections Office by phone at (209) 966-2007 or email.

If you no longer wish to receive your Sample Ballot Booklet by mail and prefer to access it online, please click here to send your request.  Please be sure to include your name, residential address and date of birth.

Important Note:  Information on your voter registration affidavit will be used by elections officials to send you official information on the voting process, such as location of your polling place and the issues and candidates that will appear on the ballot.  Commercial use of voter registration information is prohibited by law and is a misdemeanor.  Voter information may be provided to a candidate for office, a ballot measure committee, or other person for election, scholarly, journalistic, political, or governmental purposes, as determined by the Secretary of State.  Driver's license and social security numbers, or your signature as shown on your voter registration card, cannot be released for these purposes.  If you have any questions about the  use of vote information or wish to report suspected misuse of such information, please call the Secretary of State's Voter Protection and Assistance Hotline at 1-800-345-VOTE.
