Alternative Sentencing Programs
Electronic Monitoring (GPS Tracking)
At the direction of the court, the Mariposa County Probation Department can provide a method for a sentenced defendant to participate in a house arrest program in order to maintain their employment and other personal affairs. This program is known as the Electronic Monitoring Sentencing Program.
Electronic Monitoring utilizes a sophisticated Global Positioning System (GPS) through a single-unit transmitter fitted to the offender’s ankle. The device tracks and monitors the offender’s location in real-time, anywhere, anytime, anyplace 24/7. The GPS functionality and application specific software, provides the highest level of protection to communities and families.
