Sheriff Jeremy Briese has committed to his county his vision for the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office; Safety, transparency, professionalism and community.
Jeremy and his wife Caroline are both born and raised in Mariposa where they continue to live and raise their two children, Emma and Ethan. The Briese family collectively work, live, attend school and enjoy all of the beauty Mariposa has to offer.
Jeremy understands the importance of community policing and the teamwork needed to produce the best public safety plan for his community. Jeremy is an active volunteer, volunteering his time as youth sports coach, Board Member for the Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation and Lions club member. Jeremy achieved a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate’s degree in business management and marketing.
Jeremy will be the 24th Sheriff of Mariposa County and he has worked for the Mariposa Sheriff’s Office serving the community in a law enforcement capacity for twenty years. Jeremy has worked at every available rank within the Public Safety Division of the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office, preparing him to effectively lead the Sheriff’s Office.
