Work experience can open up many doors for the WtW participant. It is often the lack of experience that keeps individuals from obtaining employment. Through the work experience activity, participants are able to obtain current and up to date skills and experience.
Participants are referred to and placed in temporary work positions with local businesses in a variety of fields. The participant is expected to demonstrate good work habits and treat the position as if it were an actual paid job. Many employers seek employees through networking and work experience provides an opportunity to network. It also never hurts to have a current position to add to your resumé.
