Mari-Go, Mariposa County Transit, is a General Public Dial-a-Ride, curb-to-curb service with designated route areas. Vehicle operation hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., except County holidays. Riders must call in advance to schedule rides at 209-966-5315. All buses are equipped with a lift and tie-down straps for wheelchair passengers.

Transit services may be available for County-sponsored events and other community activities, such as the Mariposa County Fair, the Butterfly Festival, etc. However, arrangements must be made well in advance.

Curb-to-Curb Program

Mariposa County Transit also operates a curb-to-curb non-emergency medical transportation service, Medi-Trans, to Seniors (60 years of age and older) for scheduled medical appointments and/or in-office procedures in Mariposa, Merced, Oakhurst, and Fresno. There are no additional fees for those individuals that require a caregiver/attendant. However, the attendant must stay in attendance with the senior. All Medi-Trans vans are equipped with a ramp and tie-down straps for wheelchair passengers.

All transportation services are contingent on driver availability and weather conditions and may be cancelled at any time. Mariposa County Transit (Mari-Go/Medi-Trans) does NOT provide acute medical transportation to/from local or outlying areas.

North County - Mari-Go - Mariposa County Transit

Please call in advance to arrange transportation at 209-966-5315 for Tuesday trips to Sonora. You must leave your name, address, the Tuesday date you wish to ride, and your phone number or another contact number when leaving a voicemail message. All trips to Sonora must be made by close of business day (5 p.m.) the day before date of service to ensure driver availability.

Tuesday Transit - Calls must be in advance, no later than 5 p.m. on Monday to schedule a Tuesday trip to Sonora for shopping and medical appointments. The North County Sonora route is for residents of North County only, with pickup originating from the Coulterville and Greely Hill areas. Outlying North County areas other than Coulterville and Greely Hill are by designated rendezvous areas only.

Passenger pick-up starts at approximately 9:15 a.m. with returning trips leaving Sonora at 2 p.m.

Fares to Sonora: $4 One-Way

All North County transportation services are contingent on driver availability and/or weather conditions and may be cancelled at any time. Mariposa County Transit (Mari-Go/Medi-Trans) does NOT provide acute medical transportation to/from local or outlying areas.

Note: Medical Transportation (Medi-Trans) for Seniors between the Coulterville / Greely Hill areas to Mariposa and back may be arranged by calling the Department of Community Service/Mariposa Transit Office at least two weeks in advance at 209-966-5315. All Medi-Trans services are contingent on driver availability and/or weather conditions and may be cancelled at any time.

  • Monday - Highway 49 North - Bear Valley - Hornitos- Catheys Valley Areas
  • Tuesday - Mariposa to Merced. Pick up in town area and along Highway 140
  • Wednesday - Highway 49 South - Indian Peak - Usona - Ponderosa Basin - Lushmeadows Areas
  • Thursday - 3 Mile Radius of Transit Office (can include Mariposa Airport, Mormon Bar, Ben Hur, Parts of Yaqui Gulch and Old Highway)
  • Friday - Highway 140 East - Midpines- Triangle Road - Carter Road
  • Fares for Town Area Seniors to Senior Activity Center Luncheon: $1 Round Trip
  • Fares in Town (2 Mile Radius): $2 One Way
  • Fares 2 to 12 miles: $3 One Way
  • Fares over 12 miles: $4 One Way
  • Fares to Merced (Tuesdays): $4 One Way

All South County transportation services are contingent on weather conditions.

Partial funding provided by Area 12 Agency on Aging: fares are suggested donations for eligible Senior Title III-B Transportation Participants-Seniors 60 and over.
