Senior services provides a variety of services, information assistance, referrals and follow-ups.
Outreach, that initiates contact and support for seniors unaware of available services
Scheduling and implementing various activities
Special events and seminars of help and interest to seniors
Coordinating and training volunteers to give further help in providing the many services
Furnishes meetings and luncheons for senior organizations
The senior program is funded through the Older Americans Act, Area 12 Agency on Aging. Matching funds are provided by Mariposa County, the United States Department of Agriculture, participants and organization donations.
Each meal provides one third of the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) daily served to seniors 60 years of age and over, and spouse/guests of any age.
Congregate meals are served Monday through Friday, at midday in a social environment at the Senior Activity Center.
Hot meals are delivered to homebound seniors due to illness, disability or otherwise isolated in the town area. Frozen meals are offered to seniors wishing to receive them on weekends, holidays etc...
We provide unique Restaurant Meal Programs at the Coulter Cafe in Coulterville, where Mariposa seniors can order breakfast or lunch off the senior menu while enjoying the social environment.
