APCD Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards - State Implementation Plan

PUBLIC COMMENT SOUGHT

The Mariposa County Air Quality Management District (District) will hold a public hearing to consider the adoption of the 2023 Plan for Attaining the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for Ozone in Mariposa County and the Mariposa County Air Pollution Control District Reasonably Available Control Technology State Implementation Plan for the 2015 and 2008 Federal 8-Hour Ozone NAAQS. A State Implementation Plan (SIP) is a collection of regulations and documents used by a state, territory, or local air district to implement, maintain, and enforce the NAAQS, to fulfill other requirements of the Clean Air Act (CAA) and meet standards for ozone emissions.

The District will conduct the public hearing on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors' regular meeting beginning at 9:00 AM, located at 5100 Bullion St, Mariposa. If approved by the District Board, this plan will be submitted to the California Air Resources Board for approval and subsequently submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a revision to the California SIP to fulfill CAA requirements.

As part of the review process, the County must provide a 30-day Public Comment period, beginning on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. All interested parties are requested to submit written comments no later than Monday, November 20, 2023; all public comments may be submitted via email to air@mariposacounty.org. Interested parties may also provide public comments in person at the hearing on November 21st.
