Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS)

In 2011, Governor Brown signed an Assembly Bill (AB109), which assisted California in closing the revolving door of low-level inmates cycling in and out of state prisons.

Inmates who are released from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) after serving a commitment for a non-serious, non-violent, or non-high-risk sex offense, may be eligible to be placed on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and supervised by their local county probation department.
