April is County Government Month and to celebrate, the County of Mariposa is sponsoring three student contests.
All entries are due by 5 p.m., Friday, March 30th to:

All judges decisions are final.
Coloring Contest (Grades K through 3)
To win, just download our coloring sheet and submit to the address above. Three winners will be chosen from grades K-1, and another three will be chosen from grades 2-3.
1st Place winners will receive a 152 piece Crayola Ultimate Crayon Collection and The winners' classrooms will also receive a class-sized box of crayons.
2nd Place winners will receive a 96 count box of Crayola Crayons.
3rd Place winners will receive a 64 count box of Crayola Crayons.
Poster Contest (Grades 4 through 8)
To win, create an original poster that illustrates the way that counties positively impact the lives of resident and which uses the theme "Serving the Underserved."
Download the poster contest packet for full rules. Submit by the deadline to the address above. Entries will be judged by the Mariposa County Arts Council and winners displayed in the Tree Top Gallery.
Three winners will be chosen from grades 4-5, and another three will be chosen from grades 6-8 and the following prizes will be awarded:

2nd Place: $20

Essay Contest (Grades 9 through 12)
To win, write an original essay, typed in MLA format, that discusses the types and breadth of work that counties perform for its residents.
Download the essay contest packet. Submit by the deadline to the address above. Entries will be judged by the Mariposa Gazette and winner will be published in the newspaper.
